PLOT OVERVIEW:

‘Irrationally Passionate’ is an auto biography of Jason who led a nomadic life in his childhood due to his father’s job.  He lives his childhood life in Hongkong .  The story starts with an interesting incident, a small boy  (protagonist) negotiating the price of a chessboard. His entrepreneurship skills are innate and it got developed profoundly with his education. Jason doesn’t tire the readers with the flawless story a young man who was a productive potato once and transformed into a huge entrepreneur in present, rather his life is a realistic portrayal of upper middle class man. He didn’t really have any goal when he was in his middle teens, he wanted to go with the flow like every teenage boy until he discerned his passion for business. In one of the chapters, He tells how blessed he felt being an Indian because he faced worst racism in France.
He worked as an assistant for Jackie Chan and interned with Merrill Lynch, MC Kinsey etc, Jason  enumerates an incident when he wrote a speech for a CEO and eagerly waiting to listen to the speech but he was bewildered when the CEO didn’t speak what Jason wrote, he was utterly disappointed, but  he might not have had a thought that he would end up as one of the influential entrepreneurs and will inscribe his successful and inspiring story for many readers.  Jason has an immense desire for comics and it was once his happy hobby, fortunately his hobby shaped his carrer and tamed his business skills. He devised a plan to take over the Valiant Comics when he was a student and competed with many influential business men. His education gave him many ideas about liquid bankruptcy and Jason tackled it with his innate skills with his friend Dinesh. The story escalates in its pace after this chapter.

WRITING STYLE:

The writing style of this autobiography is so gripping and it is an absolute page turner with comfortable language. Every chapter of Jason’s life inspired me and it didn’t disappoint me like few autobiographies, which only concentrated on manic optimism. This ‘Irrationally Passionate’ is a realistic and inspiring story of a common man who acknowledged his abilities and ended up as an inspiration for many passionate young men.
